Cogun begins partnership with Centro de la Familia - Poinciana

09-Sep-2010 Kissimmee, FL – Centro de la Familia – Poinciana Church or “Centro” began running out of space for worship in their small church in Kissimmee, FL, and they needed a solution that would fit their Hispanic ministries the best. The ten year old church averages around 750 in attendance each week, and provides three Sunday services to accommodate their growth. Also, Centro rents out a nearby high school to hold one big worship service for the entire church and community on a quarterly basis.

Centro decided to partner with Cogun after the company’s Project Consultant, exceeded their expectations by researching what the church could do with the additional property they owned. This included researching with local government entities to insure the property would be approved for church construction, and determining if there were any limits or special requirements that needed to be addressed. Once these facts were presented to the church, Centro signed a development and planning agreement with Cogun. The church also decided to hire Mantel Teter Architects out of Kansas City to help with the design. As a team, the group will cover budgeting, finance sourcing, master planning, and design for the new facility.

The exact details of Centro’s expansion have not been finalized yet, but the church is considering a two phase project. The first phase will be the construction of a multi-use facility to house many of their ministries and the second phase will include a new, larger sanctuary. With these new additions, Centro de la Familia – Poinciana Church will not only be able to continue their community outreach programs, but will also build up strong leaders to carry on the ministry and reach more people for the Lord.
